We are sadly getting to the end of the summer, and now that the weather is getting cooler, we are moving our meals from the outdoor patios and screened-in porches to cozy indoor dining rooms and kitchens.

A well-used dining room speaks of sharing; food, drink, friends and family.  Indeed, it’s often the most sociable space in your home.

How do you design a good dining area? It’s a very simple formula: Table + Chairs + Light Fixture + Dinner = Voila, Bon Appetite!  The rug, centerpiece, and any side pieces are optional.  Figure out if you want a formal space or a casual, multifunctional space.  Do you prefer to eat in a room dedicated to dining? Or a meal in the kitchen where all the action is?

Here is a roundup of few of the dining areas that Leslie Saul & Associates has designed.    Let us know what you think, and post some pictures of where you like to dine!
