I’ve lived the American dream and built a life for my family by seizing the great opportunities our country has to offer. I’m running for Congress because I’m worried that the people we elected to represent us aren’t working to protect that dream anymore. If you are frustrated by the lack of problem-solving by our current representatives in Congress, I share your disappointment. I want to be your voice for the families and youth of South Florida and our country. As a small businesswoman, I have a proven record of creating jobs here in South Florida. As a mother, I brought together parents, educators, and school administrators to decrease class sizes in Miami-Dade County. And as a daughter, I help my mom who is struggling from Alzheimer’s and advanced Rheumatoid Arthritis continue living in the community where she raised me. Washington incumbents are so focused on reelection, so focused on scoring political points, that they’ve lost sight what voters in South Florida need. There is no question that we need to do better. Now. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Every cycle, the news tells us that this election is the most important of our lifetime. I decided to run for Congress this year because I kept hearing this at Alexandra’s school, at my mom’s assisted living residence and from frustrated business people. The reason is simple—we have never seen a Congress as broken as the one we have now in Washington. One recent example: since 1994, the Violence Against Women Act has been consistently renewed with support from both parties. But this year is different. Representatives like Congressman Rivera are working to stop the bill from being renewed. More interested in scoring political points, Congressman Rivera chooses to place his own political future ahead of the well-being of millions of women across the country. What are we as citizens going to do about it? I’m asking you to join my campaign by helping me spread the word. Can you “Like” I’m running so we can change the face of Congress. We need to send someone whose first priority is looking out for women and families. There is no question that we need to do better. With your help, we can get that kind of Congress.
